Our First Event!

This Saturday we were able to hold our first event!

Due to the restrictions in place, it's been tough to plan any events. Just to conduct a survey to see what fellow students are interested in attending, we have been having to go through a whole pile of forms. It's been a long time coming, but we finally hosted one.

We decided to invite the general Roanoke College community to help us clean up the stream. We provided gloves and equipment, as well as snacks, and worked together. It was so rewarding.

We dug out a good portion of the English Ivy closest to the parking lot, and planted a row of beautiful, native species. We had consulted with local experts about which ones would work best in this ecosystem, and took that into consideration. The weather was sunny and gorgeous, and the turn-out was awesome!

Thanks to everyone who showed up! We will definitely be hosting many more of these in the future.
