What Are We Up Against?

Here's the deal- there are a lot of hurdles that we are trying to jump over. Here are the main ones as of right now:

• Destabilized banks

• Over-mowing and lack of priority by the school

• Run-off and pollution

• Bureaucratic hurdles in conducting surveys

• Bureaucratic hurdles in changing the appearance of the creek through the planting of native species and general clean-up

• Lack of connection from the general student population due to the state of the creek

• Invasive species having taken over- like English Ivy

• Decades of dumping and harming the creek- it takes a longer time to undo those things than it did to do them in the first place
